The guy I've liked for like a year now is even shyer than I am.  Anybody have any advice on talking to shy guys about relationships?

I went to a dance with this guy last year and he seeme to want to dance with me and be around me, but then he didn't call me all summer.  At the beginning of the year I think he was kind of freaked out by my change in appearance and we barely talked.  When I asked him what was going on with us, because it was still really awkward, he just turned red, and wouldn't really respond.  And then (we have classes together) he normally NEVER touches girls and he started like patting me on the back a lot and/or putting an arm around my shoulder for a minute.  It's not random though, usually when I' complaining about something or kind of half-joking whining.  Happens once or twice a week. I don't know what he's thinking!

Well, overall, just be yourself. It's the best feeling in the world whe you finally get the hang of it.

I have trouble, mostly with girls, overcoming my shyness. I feel like they just stare right through me or think of me as disguisting. And any girl who doesnt go out with an alright looking guy has to put up with abuse from friends,,,it doesnt seem fair but maybe one day that will end

See I used to think I was ugly too, but it only took shedding the extra ten pounds, having eye surgery (to fix my lazy eye), and actually giving a shit about my warrdrobe/ makeup every once in a while.  Now lots and lots of people (including guys) have called me pretty/hot.

I'm sure that kind of metamorphisis happens to guys too.  Don't give up.
