You mean my dogs with champions for parents, family histories we can trace back very far, perfect or little illness, and basic training included is not worth the money? Please. We even pretty much knew exactly what these dogs would look like before they were even born. I would never spend that much on dogs simply because I am not a dog person. But I would say my parents got more than their money's worth from these dogs. Especially if you compare it to the puppy we got at a pet store when I was a kid. The one we were forced to put down because the humane society said it was a dangerous dog and was full of worms when we got it. You never get your money worth from a pet store when it comes to livestock. I use pet stores for food, supplies and then fish (and only because I personally know the woman who owns that store and know where the fish come from). I in no way condone pet stores. Saying they are good for fish or hamsters though, is completely acceptable. But if you want a mut, with no traceable history, higher chance of illness, highly stressed from being in a store, go for it. Perhaps you should learn to read before you continue to say I condone pet stores, darling.

If you want a mutt, go to the shelter. There is absolutely no reason at all for condoning a pet store, knowing the dogs are not coming from anywhere good.

Wow, you lack reading comprehension.
Fish, non-exotic birds and small animals (hamsters, etc) are usually bought at pet stores with no problems. Cats and dogs (and reptiles if your pet store carries them) should be given a closer look.
I clearly state that most small animals (such as a budgie or whatever, as a first pet to own), are usually ok to buy from a good pet store. And that larger pets, such as cats and dogs, should be closely examined and thought about before buying. I cannot say every single dog at a pet store is bad, because I am sure there is at least one pet store out there who treats their animals very well and get them from a good source. As I have said many times, pet stores have their time and place. Private breeders also have their time and place.

A good breeder would never allow their puppies to go into a pet store. So no, they do not get them from good 'sources'.
