Hey
I'm getting a new camera, but I would really like some advice on what camera to get. What questions should I be even asking?
I want a Canon Rebel. That's about all I know. But I also know that there are many Canon Rebels right?

I'm going to assume you'd want the Canon Rebel XT. For the SLR starter, that's a really good camera. I bought a Nikon D40 myself, but the Rebel is very good (and I've heard even better than the Nikon, but I really don't think so.)

Are you interested in point and shoot type cameras or dealing with interchangeable lens?

What are you looking for in a camera? What kind of options are you looking for? What kind of photographer are you (are you experience, amature, beginner, etf)?

Canon rebels are made for those who have experience using SLRs. They're not simply, point and shoot ones.

What they call a "point and shoot" camera is one of those handheld ones where you don't have to mess with settings so much, don't have to deal with changing your lens, and it's almost as simple as they come.

I am an amature photographer I suppose. I like to focus on a lot of things. I was looking at the Canon EOS 450D Digital Rebel XSi Camera - New EOS 450 DSLR. But I don't really know much about it. It really interestes me though.

i don't know if you're planning on ordering it, or buying it in store. if you're planning on ordering though, i would still go hold them in a store before you buy a rebel. it's a small feeling camera, and that's a complaint for anyone with big hands. i found it to be uncomfortable to hold because of that. granted im a guy with big hands and your a female but still, i have even female friends who said their hands seemed too big for it.

just a heads up.

some people suggested the powershot, i would go with that if you don't want a DSLR. it's still a point and shoot, but actually has a selection of lenses you can use with it. just depends on how serious you are about photography.
